- Description
- Page 1 of 1 In accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b), this Notice of Intent is to inform all parties the Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 19 located at 6162 South Willow Drive Suite 300, Greenwood Village, CO 80111 intends to award a sole source procurement for the following requirement to the small business, Phoenix Seating Systems LLC, DBA Falcon Rehabilitation, located at 8245 Quebec Street, Commerce City, CO 80022: ITEM # DESCRIPTION OF SUPPLIES QTY UNIT OF ISSUE 0001 Custom Manual Prone Carts/Stretchers 2 EA 0002 Custom Powered Prone Carts/Stretchers 2 EA The contracting action is for the acquisition of two (2) custom manual prone carts and two (2) custom powered prone carts. The unique feature that limits this request to just Falcon Rehabilitation is that they build their carts to allow for height adjustments on the frame to allow unique setups from patient to patient. This height adjustment is critical for the manually operated carts and the adjustment places the wheel rims at the desired distance for the patient s arm length to allow self-locomotion. The carts were configured based on proven setups at other VA Spinal Cord Injury (SCI) units that also have purchased from Falcon Rehabilitation. Additionally, the intent is to purchase both the powered and nonpowered carts from the same vendor for ease of maintenance and the mattresses or pads must be capable of being removed for cleaning and must be constructed of anti-bacterial properties. After much research, Falcon Rehabilitation is the only manufacturer that can build a prone cart that will meet the SCI unit needs. They make both and powered and nonpowered carts, the pads and mattress material that will come in contact with patients is made from an anti-bacterial material and is capable of being removed for a thorough cleaning in between patients. Lastly and critical for the intended purpose of the SCI unit is the ability to adjust the height of the frame on the carts for use from patient to patient. The associated North America Classification Systems (NAICS) Code is 339113 and the Small Business Size Standard is 750 Employees. THIS NOTICE OF INTENT IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than 4:00 PM Eastern Standard Time, Friday, December 28th, 2018. Information received in response to this notice must clearly demonstrate the capability of meeting the Government s need as stated above. Include any relevant information (specifications, cut sheets, brochures, capability statement, etc.) confirming the ability to supply the products and/or any services outlined in this notice. Responses to this notice are to be sent to stephen.heckman@va.gov.
