Description
The U.S. Army Contracting Command - New Jersey (ACC-NJ), Picatinny Arsenal, NJ 07806-5000, on behalf of the Armament, Research, Development and Engineering Center (ARDEC) is currently seeking qualified sources who have demonstrated experience in material synthesis, modeling/simulation and software development, manufacturing process evolution, component level prototyping in support of various weapon systems, Army material and their associated components, sub-systems, and devices with a primary focus on Armaments, Munitions, and Solider Systems, being developed and provided for ARDEC while meeting the Army "Modernization" and "Readiness" objectives. Of specific interest to ARDEC is the development of materials and manufacturing techniques that allow for new levels of functionality, affordability and performance for Munitions & Armament Systems. Solutions are needed for armaments and ammunition support systems/components which includes a need for materials and processing techniques that allow for the manufacturing of three-dimensional functional devices that can withstand high-g (acceleration) loadings. These systems will require the use of 5-axis hybrid manufacturing equipment with the ability to print dielectric and conductive electronic materials along with structural materials, as well as have the ability to pick-and-place integrated circuits and other components, and machine or polish finished surfaces. Complex, multi-material / multi-technology manufacturing techniques and associated software packages that allow for converting three-dimensional design into machine code for the manufacturing processes is of need. There is also solutions and availability needed for materials that are designed for this type of processing in conjunction with the rigors of high-g loading and survive harsh environments for Army applications. Rapid iterative design, including modeling & simulation tools and rapid testing & characterization tools, is required for expeditious product development for functional devices with expensive components and materials. The aforementioned technologies and services are required to meet Army Modernization Priorities for "Long Range Precision Fires," "Assured Precision, Navigation, and Timing (PNT)," "Air & Missile Defense," and "Development of Cross Cutting Enablers." NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (03-JAN-2019); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
