Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a firm fixed-price type contract with a one-year base and a one-year option to Kidde Aerospace and Defense (KAD) to provide F /A-18 E/F/G with retrofit Fire Suppression Control Assemblies (FSCAs) from its current -03 configuration to the desired -04 configuration. The supplies and/or services are required to support installation of (P/N 473660-04) to enable safe life goals. The procurement will be procured under NAICS 336413 (Other Aircraft Parts and Auxiliary Equipment Manufacturing), and is being pursued on a sole source basis under the statutory authority 10 USC 2304 (C)(1) as implemented by Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 6.302-1, "Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements." The Government does not currently possess the necessary supplies and/or services to support installation of FSCAs using a source other than KAD. Therefore, NAVAIR has determined that award of ECP 6322 to any source other than KAD would result in unacceptable delays to fielding this requirement. This synopsis is for informational purposes only and is not a request for competitive proposals.
