Description

The US Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Systems Directorate (SMC/MC) intends to acquire a space system enabling operations of the Protected Tactical Waveform (PTW) via processed satellite payloads. This new capability is referred to as Protected Tactical SATCOM (PTS). The Government is conducting market research to determine potential sources for the Technology Maturation and Risk Reduction (TMRR) Phase for this requirement - reference the Attachment for instructions associated with this Source Sought. PTS is technologically related to but procured separately from the Protected Tactical Service Field Demonstration (PTSFD) and the Protected Tactical Enterprise Service (PTES) programs. Inputs from market research will be a critical component in shaping the acquisition strategy and developing the requirements for a future acquisition.
