Description

The US Air Force Space and Missile Systems Center (SMC) Military Satellite Communications (MILSATCOM) Systems Directorate (SMC/MC) intends to acquire a space system enabling operations of the Protected Tactical Waveform (PTW) via processed satellite payloads. This new capability is referred to as Protected Tactical SATCOM (PTS). PTS is technologically related to but procured separately from the Protected Tactical Service Field Demonstration (PTSFD) and the Protected Tactical Enterprise Service (PTES) programs. Inputs from market research will be a critical component in shaping the acquisition strategy and developing the requirements for a future acquisition.
