- DESCRIPTION: This is a sources sought announcement. This announcement is in support of market research to determine the feasibility of a competitive acquisition and to identify potential sources that can provide the overhaul of the following item: NOMENCLATURE: Mechanical Transmission INPUT NSNs: 1615-01-397-9921, 1615-01-464-3974 OUTPUT NSN: 1615-01-464-3974 INPUT P/Ns: 145D5300-16, 145D5300-20 OUTPUT P/N: 145D5300-20 ESTIMATED QUANTITY RANGE: Minimum 30 each - Maximum 120 each (Maximum includes a Foreign Military Sales (FMS) Quantity of 20 each) The applicable North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 336413 and the size standard is 1,250 employees. The Mechanical Transmission is a Critical Safety Item (CSI) and the overhaul/upgrade must be performed by the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) or other approved sources. This is not a commercial item. Currently, the only known approved sources are The Boeing Company (CAGE 77272), Heligear Acquisition Co, DBA Northstar Aerospace, (CAGE 22907), and Columbia Helicopters (CAGE 7W206). A Depot Maintenance Work Requirement (DMWR) DMWR-55-1615- 325 is available for this effort. Contractors are encouraged to seek Source Approval Request (SAR) in order to become an approved source by submitting documentation in accordance with the Competition Advocate's Shopping List procedures. This announcement does not constitute a RFP. A synopsis will be issued at a later date for this requirement. Requests for a solicitation will not receive a response.
