- NOTICE OF INTENT TO AWARD SOLE SOURCE: Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) Network Contracting Office 2 (NCO 2) intends to award a sole source contract award to Siemens Medical Solutions USA, Inc. 51 Valley Stream Pkwy, Malvern, PA 19355. The period of Performance is from February 1, 2019 to September 30, 2019 with a provision of four (4) option years. This requirement is to provide all necessary maintenance, labor and materials for service on three (3) YSIO X-Ray machines (2 at Syracuse VAMC and 1 at the Rome CBOC), one (1) Somatom Definition AS+ Computed Temography (CT) Machine, and the Cathodic Lab equipment consisting of one (1) Artis Q-Zen, one Mark 7 Arterion Injector and One (1) Eaton 9390IT UPS. These medical devices are used for diagnostic patient care at the Syracuse VA medical center. Items are located at the Syracuse VA Medical Center 800 Irving Avenue, Syracuse, NY 13210-2716 and the Rome CBOC 125 Brookley Road, Building 510, Rome, NY 13441. The service maintenance plan will include scheduled preventive maintenance replacement parts coverage, remote service support, telephone support, operating system software and hardware reliability reports, as well as, continuing education and support service. The contractor will be responsible for full maintenance coverage by providing all replacement parts, labor, travel expenses, tools, test equipment and other incidentals necessary to maintain or restore the listed equipment to operating specifications according to the manufacturer s recommendations throughout the term of the contract. Due to the proprietary nature, Siemens Medical Solutions, USA is the only company than can access its systems remotely and offer certified parts that meet the original equipment manufacturer s specifications. Siemens Medical technicians are the only OEM trained and certified personnel authorized to perform work on this HTME (High Tech Medical Equipment). THIS NOTICE IS NOT A REQUEST FOR COMPETITIVE QUOTES; however, any firm that believes it can meet the requirements may give written notification prior to the response due date and time. Supporting evidence must be furnished in sufficient detail to demonstrate the ability to perform the requirements. Responses received will be evaluated; however, a determination by the Government not to compete the proposed procurement based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. If no responses are received, the Government will proceed with the award. Responses are due by January 17, 2019 10 am. (EST). Responses shall be submitted via e-mail to Kimberly.wiatrowski@va.gov.
