- This is a combined synopsis/solicitation for commercial items prepared in accordance with the format in FAR Subpart 12.6, as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. The solicitation number is DRUMUSMACLSTMH0023 and is issued as an invitation for bids (IFB), unless otherwise indicated herein. The solicitation document and incorporated provisions and clauses are those in effect through Federal Acquisition Circular 2005-101. The associated North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) code for this procurement is 334516 with a small business size standard of 500.00 employees. This requirement is a [ Small Business ] set-aside and only qualified offerors may submit bids. The solicitation pricing on www.FedBid.com will start on the date this solicitation is posted and will end on 2019-01-18 12:00:00.0 Eastern Time or as otherwise displayed at www.FedBid.com. FOB Destination shall be West Point, NY 10996 The MICC End User requires the following items, Brand Name or Equal, to the following: LI 001: Mechanical: It must be a binocular phase contrast compound Koehler illumination capable microscope with a solid metal frame. The binocular head must be a 30-degree inclined Siedentopf type that is capable of 360-degree rotation. The two eyepieces must be capable of adjustable interpupillary distance and individual adjustable diopters. It must have dual-sided, tension-adjustable coarse & fine focusing system with an adjustable lock ring stopper to limit coarse adjustment to prevent damage to the sample. It must have a large 3D mechanical stage with a stain resistant finish and have two micro-slide clips to hold the sample in place. The stage range must be at least 3 inches by 2 inches. Optics: The nose piece must be a backward rotatable quadruple and come with four infinity plan achromatic objectives (4x, 10x, 40x and 100x). The system must also come with a set of four interchangeable infinity plan achromatic phase contrast objectives (10x, 20x, 40x and 100x). It must come with two sets of wide field eyepieces (WF10x and 15x). It must come with two condenser systems. The basic condenser system must be an Abbe type system with adjustable iris diaphragm and swing out filter holder. The condenser must have an NA of 1.25 and rack and pinion gear control for proper focusing. It must also come with a phase turret condenser containing the appropriate phase annuli for the 10x, 20x, 40x, and 100x phase contrast objectives. Each microscope must come with a centering telescope for phase ring / phase annulus alignment. Illumination/Power: The light source must be at least 12V/20W halogen with adjustable brightness and use conventional 120V US power. It must be capable of Koehler illumination. Other: Must include a spare bulb, dust cover, spare fuse, power cord, objective centering wrench, colored filters, and a downloadable user manual.
