- The U.S Department of Energy (DOE) intends to award a sole source purchase order to the Moore Companies Inc. to provide technical assistance and support for the 2019 National Environmental Justice Conference and Training Program, held in Washington D.C. March 13-15, 2019, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i). The Moore Companies Inc. has demonstrated ability and expertise on the subject of environmental justice. Each year, this conference is viewed as a prime and sought after opportunity for networking, problem solving and training. The Washington, DC location provides a strategic setting for top representatives from Congress; Federal agencies; Tribal; State and local government; Academia; Public Institutions; Private Industry, and the Public to meet. The conference supports DOE's effort to develop and implement programs to insure an integrated, consistently effective and efficient process for communicating knowledge, and interaction, and distribution of knowledge to Federal, state and local governments, community and faith based organizations, Historically Black Colleges and Universities (HBCU), other Minority Serving Institutions, and the general public; all for the purpose of increasing public participation in DOE's environmental decision-making process by traditionally under-represented groups, including minority, low-income and tribal populations. DOE has determined it is in the interest of economy and efficiency to issue a purchase order to Moore Companies, Inc. This is a notice of intent and not a request for competitive proposals.
