Description

1 SOURCES SOUGHT Project #676-19-004 STATEMENT OF WORK Replace Dry Sprinkler System B400 Tomah VAMC, Tomah WI 54660 1/25/2019 Background: The work includes the replacement of the dry sprinklers in building 400 in the unconditioned attic space on the 4th floor, in the penthouse, and in the bell tower. Magnitude of construction cost is between $100,000 and $250,000. Scope of Work: This construction project includes all labor, materials, equipment, tools, and supervision necessary for the construction of Project 676-19-004 Replace Dry Sprinkler System B400 as defined by the drawings and specifications. Major elements of this include: Replacement of building compressor, pipe fittings, piping, sprinkler heads, pipe hangers, and all related clapper valve components as well as sprinkler drain piping to meet NFPA 13 2019 requirements. Time Requirements: Time requirement: Length of Construction 180 calendar days from signed Notice to Proceed. General Requirements: Normal working hours are 7:30AM-4:00PM. Contractor shall completely prepare site for building operations, including demolition and removal of existing structures, and furnish labor and materials and perform work for replace dry sprinklers B400 as required by drawings and specifications. Visits to the site by Bidders may be made only by appointment with the Medical Center Engineering Officer. Before placement and installation of work subject to tests by testing laboratory retained by Department of Veterans Affairs, the Contractor shall notify the COR in sufficient time to enable testing laboratory personnel to be present at the site in time for proper taking and testing of specimens and field inspection. Such prior notice shall not be less than three work days unless otherwise designated by the COR. All employees of general contractor and subcontractors shall comply with VA security management program and obtain permission of the VA police, be identified by project and employer, and restricted from unauthorized access. Note: NLT four (4) days after closing, responses to this Sources Sought should include a description and cost of all projects completed for this type of work, as well as percentage of labor self-performed. This Sources Sought is NOT a request for proposals or submittals of any kind. The Department of Veterans Affairs is conducting market research for potential forthcoming work, and plans to issue the official solicitation on or about February 5, 2019 with the bid opening in early Spring 2019. The Department of Veterans Affairs intends on processing this solicitation and all amendments via the Federal Business Opportunities website (www.fbo.gov). Vendors may search, monitor and retrieve opportunities for free; vendors may register as an Interested Vendor or select Watch Opportunity to be given notifications for any changes.
