- Asbestos, Lead and Mold, and Minor Repair Construction Work Hampton VA Medical Center, Engineering Service Magnitude of construction is between $25,000 and $100,000. NAICS code 562910 Size Standard of $20.5 Million The contractor shall provide all labor, parts, travel, tools, material, equipment, supervision and technical expertise necessary for the removal, disposal of hazardous materials such as: Asbestos, Lead, mold, and minor construction repair work at various buildings at the VA Medical Center, Hampton, Virginia 23667. Period of performance is from 01 March 2019 through February 29, 2020 with four (4) one-year renewal Option Years through February 2023. (These dates may be subject to change) General. The Contractor will supply all transportation, labor, parts, materials, tools, specialized equipment, unlimited software updates and support, hardware upgrades, supervision, and technical expertise, to removal and disposal of hazardous waste materials such as: Asbestos Containing Materials, Lead paint and/or Mold Remediation and minor construction repair work on real property for various buildings located at the VA Medical Center, Hampton, Virginia 23667. The contractor will be tasked to track any possible water or steam leaks throughout the area of task. If the contractor encounters any bacterial growth in the immediate work area, the contractor will remediate and seal with a mold inhibitor. Once the interior investigation is completed, the contractor will be tasked to remove all debris, clean interior walls, and all surfaces where remediation and installation has been conducted. Contractor will utilize an HEPA VAC to minimizes any potential dust from being airborne, and wet wipe work and adjacent areas. The contractors will provide a final cleaning upon approval of the medical center industrial hygienist. Environmental air sampling will be conducted by the contractor to ensure staff or patients are not being exposed to environmental stressor for Total and Respirable Dust. Upon completion of the task, the contractor will ensure all work is conducted in accordance to OSHA, EPA and VA Directive. A copy of the environmental air sampling results will be provided to the Medical Center Industrial Hygienist within five working days of completion of the project. Professional and hourly rate will be included in each service provided. The contractor shall perform environmental air monitoring and provide their own industrial hygienist for monitoring/testing/analysis to include hazardous substances. Prior to each monitoring/testing/analysis the contractor must provide a cost estimate for the requested tasks(s). Projected quote is preferred. Service shall be provided within two working days of accepted quote. The contractor shall make repairs to ceiling piping which contains asbestos pipe lagging and asbestos flooring abating the affected area where pipe lagging is adjacent to asbestos elbows Depending on the assessment identify bacterial growth at various location AC units, ceiling tiles, furniture, HVAC systems duct work, flex work, crawlspace and mechanical room. The VA Medical Center maintenance/repair/renovation shall conform to the requirements of the Joint Commission of Accreditation of Health Care Organizations (JCAHO) Environment of Care Standards and other applicable codes and standards. This solicitation is anticipated to be a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business Set-Aside. Solicitation material will be available on/about February 15, 2019. Any specifications, drawings and amendments will be posted on this web site. Proposals will be due approximately 32 days after issuance of the solicitation. Location and points of contact for site visits will be identified in the solicitation. This notice is for informational purposes only and is not a request for proposals.
