- Description
- This is a notice of intent to increase the ceiling of Contract N66001-16-C-4035 to SRI International, awarded by SSC Pacific on behalf of the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA) Microsystems Technology Office (MTO) on 14 April 2016. The performers effort, Low Emittance Spindt Cathode for mm-wave Vacuum Electronic Devices was selected for DARPA MTOs Innovative Vacuum Electronics Science and Technology (INVEST) program as a performer under the focus area cathode science and technology, performing experimental science leading to a more complete understanding of electron emission enabling the a priori design of low-temperature, high current density, and long-life cathodes. This additional effort will allow for the ability to perform a second fabrication run of uniquely designed emitters (unexpected fabrication issues occurred lead to emitters being built that were non-functional) designed explicitly for inclusion into cathodes for testing. The goal of this effort is to achieve state of the art performance in a beam tester being built for this purpose. The NAICS code for this procurement is 541715 (formerly 541712). Due to the nature of Research and Development efforts, DARPA MTO could not have reasonably estimated the need for the additional effort required under this effort, that will benefit from this additional tasking being included under the current contract. This action includes a ceiling increase of approximately $116,892.00. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals or quotes, however, interested parties may submit comments in writing to the Contract Specialist, Lynn Biedermann, Code 22720, Space and Naval Warfare Systems Center, Pacific who may be reached by telephone at (619) 553-4479 or via email to lynn.biedermann@navy.mil. This notice will be posted for five (5) days. A determination by the Government not to compete based upon response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (07-FEB-2019); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
