Description
U.S. Department of Veteran Affairs (VA) Industry Day Construction/AE opportunities in Rural Wisconsin and the Upper Peninsula of Michigan This unique event will focus on opportunities in rural Wisconsin and the upper peninsula of Michigan (UP) for prime contractors (and subcontractors) with the US Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) in construction, architectural engineering (A/E), environmental and related trades for both veteran owned and non-veteran owned (as partners or mentors to veteran firms) businesses. This event includes an educational conference in Green Bay, WI to learn more about upcoming projects at the VA Hospitals in Tomah, WI and Iron Mountain, MI. April 23, 2019 8:30am to 3:30pm - Contracting with the US Department of Veterans Affairs Milo C. Huempfner Community Based Outpatient Clinic 2851 University Ave Green Bay, WI [light lunch will be served] Guided site visits of both Iron Mountain, MI and Tomah, WI facilities will be offered on Wednesday April 24th and will be repeated on Thursday April 25th to allow contractors to visit one or both locations (if desired). Topics will include: Current and future opportunities at the Iron Mountain/Tomah facilities in Construction and A/E Basics of Federal Contracting Responding to a Department of Veterans Affairs requirements The Department of Veterans Affairs Verification Process for Veteran and Service Disabled Veteran Owned Businesses ( Veterans First program; 38 USC 8127) Joint Ventures, SBA Mentor Protégé program and teaming agreements (How non-veteran business can partner with veteran owned firms). Veterans Health Administration (VHA) contracting personnel will be participating in this event and will be discussing upcoming projects at the Iron Mountain and Tomah facilities. In addition, representatives from the US Small Business Administration (SBA) and Wisconsin Procurement Institute (WPI) will be in attendance to instruct on the topics above. Networking opportunities will be available to meet potential partners and/or subcontractors (both veteran-owned and non-veteran owned). We encourage all current and potential contractors and subcontractors working in construction, A/E, environmental and related trades to attend.
