- Seismographic Equipment. This is a Sources Sought inquiry only. This sources sought notice is for informational purposes only and shall not be considered a solicitation, obligation, or commitment by the Government. This notice is for market research to determine the availability of any businesses with capabilities to provide the required product. The USGS Earthquake Science Center, Menlo Park, CA requires two complete nodal seismograph systems meeting or exceeding the following salient characteristics: 1. System expandable to more than 10,000 units 2. Three-Component recording: One vertical and two horizontal Channels. 3. Internal GPS for timing and location. 4. GPS Timing standard: 1 PPM. 5. Timing accuracy: Plus or minus 10 Microseconds, GPS disciplined. 6. Total harmonic distortion <0.0002% at 0dB gain or better at 0dB gain. 7. 24-bit ADC resolution. 8. Sampling interval can be chosen at 0.2, 0.5, 1,2, or 4 milliseconds. 9. Pre-amplifier gain (0oB to 36 dB in six dB steps). 10. Operating temperature range, at a minimum, -40 degrees C to +70 degrees C. 11. Dust and waterproof: IP67 or better. 12 Data storage: Must be at least 32 GB expandable to 64. 13. Dimensions: Less than 105mm, Length, x 98mm Width, x 190mm Height, without the sensor spike. Area less than 4.2 ¿ x 3.9 ¿ x7.5 ¿. For cylinders: Less than 4.5 ¿ diameter by 7.5 ¿long, without spike. 14. Total weight: less than 5.5 lbs. (Including geophone spike and internal battery). 15. Battery operating live @25 degrees C and 2-ms sampling rate, 30 days or more of continuous recording. 16. Recharge time, from total discharge, < six hours. 17. Charging temperature range +3 degrees C to + 40 degrees C. 18. Sensor: 5 Hz natural frequency: a. Distortion:, 0.1% at 12Hz ( 0 to 10 degrees) b. Damping: 0.7. c. Sensitivity: less than 77V/m/s or less. 19. Battery charging rack. 20. Data download rack. 21. The computer server will be purchased separately. 22. Programming/download software included. The purpose of this notice is to determine interest and capability of potential sources. The NAICS is 334519, Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing, 500 Employees. Interested parties will submit an email detailing their capabilities and experience with these products. Sufficient information must be provided to demonstrate the ability to complete the requirement. This is not a request for quotation or an announcement of a solicitation.
