- Description
- The Center for Civil-Military Relations requires the delivery of Female Engagement Training (FET) to members of the Armed Forces of the Zambia. This pre-deployment training encompasses elements of relative topic areas from Civil-Military Relations, Civil-Military Relations for Junior Military Leaders, Disarmament, Demobilization and Reintegration, Managing Ethnic Conflict and Religious-Based Violence, and Women Integration into the Armed Forces, along with United Nations doctrine on training/educating staff officers for service in United Nations peacekeeping missions. The event requires the provision of on-site supervision of trainers and prospective FET team members, for all Zambia Battalion Contingent V (ZAMBATT V) FET training periods during the unit pre-deployment training cycle. This event shall complete the FET training period of ZAMBATT V. The ZAMBATT V FET event will occur at the Nanking Peace Support Operations Training Center (PMTC) located in vicinity of Lusaka, Zambia. The government sponsor of this event is the United States (US) Africa Command (US AFRICOM). The event supports the on-going Peacekeeping Capacity-building Program of Zambia. The event consists of 5 training days, conducted over a one-week period. Planned execution dates are from 11 March to 15 March 2019. Event training periods are shown in the ZAMBATT V Draft FET Course Schedule (GFI Attachment 1). These periods of training will prepare Zambian FET team members for integrated civil-military operations in support of on-going United Nations peacekeeping missions. The participants will be approximately 100 Zambian officers, non-commissioned officers and other ranks who collectively comprise ZAMBATT prospective FET team members and contingent tactical leaders related to the employment of FET elements during ZAMBATT V peacekeeping operations. FET members may vary in rank from Major (O-4) to Private (E-1).
