- Description
- DESCRIPTION: MARKET SURVEY AND BIDDERS LIST DEVELOPMENT - SOURCES SOUGHT REQUEST FOR CLOUD NATIVE STORAGE SOLUTION. The U.S. Senate Sergeant at Arms (SAA) is seeking information from the vendor community on a cloud native storage solution to integrate with Red Hat OpenShift that will minimize the risks of platform or application transitions, increase storage flexibility and accessibility, and improve performance while maximizing the usage of existing storage resources. Response to this SSN will assist the SAA in the review of current solutions offered in the marketplace for cloud native storage. The SAA requests responses that detail solutions that: 1) meet or exceed the requirements set forth herein and 2) provide a full description of services offered, methods of implementation, and scope of the solution. THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION ONLY. This SSN is issued solely for information and planning purposes - it does not constitute a Request for Proposal (RFP) or a promise to issue an RFP in the future. This SSN does not commit the SAA to contract for any supply or service whatsoever. Further, neither the Senate nor SAA seek proposals at this time; will not accept unsolicited proposals; will not pay for any information or administrative costs incurred in response to this SSN. All costs associated with responding to this SSN will be solely at the interested party's expense. If the SAA releases a request for proposal it will be synopsized on the Federal Business Opportunities (FedBizOpps) website. It is the responsibility of the potential Offerors to monitor this site for additional information pertaining to this requirement. All requirements listed below are mandatory unless otherwise noted. All questions require a response. This synopsis contains the currently available information and is subject to change at any time. REQUIREMENTS: The key functional requirements under consideration for the Cloud Native Storage Solution must include, but are not limited to, the following: 1. Ability to increase capacity by interfacing multiple hardware and/or software platforms so that they work as one integrated unit; 2. Minimal storage solution operator overhead; application programming interface (API) driven; 3. The storage solution should have the ability to remain completely autonomous and will not be locked into any specific vendor container platform product offering; 4. The storage resources and services should be provisioned as part of container deployment via an orchestrator; 5. Storage solution should have elastic storage management capabilities; and, 6. User security (e.g. role-based access controls).
