Description
STATEMENT OF WORK A. GENERAL INFORMATION 1. Title of Project: Second Chance Summit Level IIIA Ballistics Vests 2. Scope of Work: The contractor shall provide all resources necessary to accomplish the deliverables described in this statement of work (SOW), except as may otherwise be specified. Included is the process to ensure proper fitment of the body armor to the individual wearer. Armor provided must be meet National Institute of Justice, Type IIIA specifications and will have a minimum of front, rear and side panels. Additionally, armor supplied will be usable with concealable (undershirt) carriers as well as overt carriers specifically designed for wear outside of the uniform shirt. Each armor set will include one (1) concealable carrier and one (1) outer uniform shirt carriers in the uniform color set forth in VA Police SOP, 2A, Uniform Wear. 3. Background: In accordance with VA Police SOP, 2C, Protective Body Armor Wear, it is the policy of the Police Service to provide all VA Police Officers assigned to this Medical Center with protective body armor (vest). The authorization for procurement of protective body armor vests reflects an assessment that a high possibility exists that officers may be injured by a weapon at any time during the course of their duties. VA Police Officers are expected to wear their protective body armor vest under their duty uniform shirt. It is also acceptable to wear a protective vest on the outside of the duty uniform shirt if the vest is specifically designed to do so. The vest will be worn for the entire shift. 4. Performance Period: [Firm-Fixed-Price] The contractor shall complete the work required under this SOW in 30 calendar days or less from date of award, unless otherwise directed by the Contracting Officer (CO). Work at the Government site shall not take place on Federal holidays or weekends unless directed by the CO. 5. Type of Contract: [Firm-Fixed-Price]. This will be awarded based on the lowest price technically acceptable, all technical specs in the statement of work must be met.
