- PRESOLICITATION NOTICE: The National Park Service, Midwest Region, Ohio Major Acquisition Buying Office, intends to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Repair of HVAC in the Visitors Center at Keweenaw National Park located in Calumet, Michigan This mechanical project will address HVAC deficiencies in the Keweenaw National Historical Park ¿s Calumet Visitor Center. Work will involve the installation of two (2) new gas-fired high efficiency boilers with associated controls and piping. SOLICITATION NUMBER: 140P6419R0009. PROJECT MAGNITUDE: Between $50,000.00 and $100,000.00. TYPE OF CONTRACT: This will be a firm-fixed price contract expected to be awarded to a prime contractor by mid-April 2019 with performance to begin in April 2019. Construction Wage Rate Requirements for Houghton County, MI will apply. EVALUATION FACTORS: Technical, Past Performance, and Price. North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) CODE CLASSIFICATION and SET ASIDE: The NAICS Code is 238220, and the size standard is $15.0 million. This project is set aside 100% for Small Businesses. SITE VISIT: A site visit date, time, and meeting location will be announced in the solicitation. Offerors are highly encouraged to attend the scheduled site visit to inspect the site and to ensure they fully understand the requirement and conditions that may affect the cost of the project, specifications, and performance. The new boilers will be connected to the building ¿s air handling unit and designed to work in coordination with the air conditioning system. The project is responsive to the HVAC needs of the facility, providing auxiliary heat in an efficient manner through the air handling system, while reserving the existing steam heating system (installed prior to the 2011 Interior Rehabilitation) for winter heating needs.
