Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to VWR International, LLC for the purchase of PCR Kits, reagents, and related materials. These materials are required to maintain and continue existing molecular diagnostics research in the Dengue Branch laboratory. These reagents ensure the operational readiness of critical laboratory instruments. The laboratory participates in standard laboratory operations as well as public health emergencies; the materials have proven to produce high quality data in molecular diagnostics research. Reagents from vendors other than VWR would negatively impact the validity of results. Without valid, reliable, and reproducible results, years of research would be jeopardized because data from an incompatible system would not be directly comparable or consistent with data that has been collected and analyzed over time. Due to the highly technical, carefully engineered nature of the molecular laboratory instruments, VWR is the only vendor that can provide these reagents. This contract action is for supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (SAP) and 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals.
