Description
Please note that this is NOT a request for quotes or proposals. The Government is seeking Information for market research purposes only. The Department of Veterans Affairs, VISN 2, Network Contracting Office (NCO2) is currently conducting a market survey for firms capable of providing the following: The Government is in need of temporary workers for120 work days period, at the Northport VA Medical Center, 79 Middleville Road, Northport, NY 11768. Electrical Engineering service to include the following tasks: Responsible for supporting projects, operations and management of multiple facilities to troubleshoot or design electrical systems. Performs economical and energy analysis, conceptual design through drawing development, load calculations, design, and layout. Completes complex and lengthy technical reports, proposals, and creating and maintaining complex systems and databases in compliance with various organizational requirements. Creates drawings and system design as required. Minimum Education: Electrical Engineers shall possess at least a Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum/General Experience: Extensive technical and practical knowledge and experience (at least 5 years) as an Electrical Engineer. Electrical Engineer (EE) Contract Responsibility: The Electrical Engineer s role is to assist Northport VAMC in supporting projects, operations and management to troubleshoot or design electrical systems. Performs economical and energy analysis, conceptual design through drawing development, load calculations, design, and layout. Completes complex and lengthy technical reports, proposals, and creating and maintaining complex systems and databases in compliance with various organizational requirements. Creates drawings and system design as required. Review and comment on proposed design drawings. Evaluate capability of existing electrical system to support proposed new equipment. Provide technical solutions to enact VA and Code-compliant installations. Evaluate previously-installed electrical work for compliance with VA standards and Electrical Code. Provide technical solutions to enact compliance. Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Electrical Engineering. Minimum/General Experience: Technical and practical knowledge and experience (at least 3 years) as an electrical engineer. Extensive experience, ability and understanding of facility construction concepts, principles and practices applicable to electrical projects. A reasonable amount of work is expected and will be checked on a daily basis by the Maintenance and Operations Supervisor. If the amount of work completed is not up to industry standards, that employee must be replaced by another qualified employee the next day.
