Description
The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC),National Institute of Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH-Pittsburgh)\National Personal Protective Technology Laboratory (NPPTL), intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price purchase order to AnyBody Technology A/S, Aalborg Ost, Denmark, (authors and distributors) for: • AnyBody Modeling System, Floating Non-Faculty Research Perpetual License, 1 user, (includes 1 year maintenance). • AnyBody Exporter for SOLIDWORKS, Non-Faculty Research Perpetual License (includes 1 year maintenance). • AnyBody Modeling System Training (5 consecutive workdays at premises). • 2 - one year Option Periods for Maintenance renewal of the AB Modeling System and AB Exporter for SOLIDWORKS. This software which simulates the human body ergonomics of workplace environments to calculate muscle forces, joint contact forces, metabolism, elastic energy of tendons and antagonistic muscle action, will be used as a research tool in the FY19 new start project "Wearability and Use of Respiratory Protective Devices: Effects of a Changing Workforce". This contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b) (Simplified Acquisition Procedures (SAP)). Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotations; however, all quotations/responses received within seven (7) days of the issuance of this notice will be considered by the government. A determination by the government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Any quotation and/or response should be emailed to Contract Specialist, James Ambrozic at eud7@cdc.gov by 11:00 am. on March 14, 2019.
