- SOURCES SOUGHT (SPECIAL NOTICE) COMMUNICATION TOWER RENTAL The US Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified businesses capable of providing tower rentals as described below. This Sources Sought announcement is not a request for quote or proposal and the Government is not committed to award of a purchase order or contract pursuant to this announcement. The information resulting from this market research is simply for planning purposes to assist the Government in determining its acquisition strategy. The Government will not pay for any costs incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this notice. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code 517410 - Satellite Telecommunications, and associated size standard $32,500,000 apply to this announcement. All responsible sources may submit a capabilities statement detailing the ability of their abilities to provide the services described in this announcement. Responses to this announcement shall only be accepted through electronic mail addressed to capplegate@usgs.gov and must be uploaded and received in their entirety no later than 03/07/2019. Responses submitted by hardcopy or the FedConnect web portal or the FedConnect Message Center shall not be accepted or considered. DESCRIPTION The USGS requires the lease of antenna space on existing communication towers at least 60 feet tall in Oregon and Washington for the monitoring of volcanic activity. The USGS also requires the lease of space in the associated radio shelters, located at the base of each tower, to connect USGS-owned radios to the antenna. The four required locations are as follows: - Davis Peak, Washington - Signal Peak, Washington - Pine Mountain, Oregon - Stukel Mountain, Oregon NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (01-MAR-2019); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
