Description
Modernize Public WiFi RFI Q&A INSERT ONE QUESTION PER ROW GOVERNMENT RESPONSE 1 Would you please clarify the exact type of solution TAC/Ann  Arbor  is seeking: Transition of an  existing  service, equipment, and support, with a  potential  equipment refresh in Year 2. The same as "A" with  expanded  wi-fi coverage areas, but no expansion of service locations.     The same as "A" with  expanded  wi-fi coverage areas and  expanded (additional)  service locations. Implementation of a  new  wireless system across all locations, where a system does not currently exist. TAC/Ann Arbor is seeking to replace all existing Wifi access points that currently exist. This solution shall also significantly expand the covered area in the main hospital and add an entirely NEW guest wifi system in the identified CBOC s. This being said, the solution we are seeking closest matches your statement as follows: Implementation of a  new  wireless system across all locations, where a system does not currently exist. 2 Does the word "modernization" in the title reflect the potential equipment refresh in Year 2? If not, what does the word "modernization" apply to? Yes, in Option Year 2 we are looking at a potential equipment refresh up to the current standards for the year. i.e. current solution installs wi-fi 5. Refresh could target wi-fi 6. 3 We reviewed the maps; will the Government please provide maps that reflect where there is existing service, and where the expansion locations will be?   This information will be provided with the formal solicitation. 4 Regarding the capability requirements ("Your response must address capabilities specific to the services...") - our Team is comprised of a Prime and a subcontractor with joint, relevant past performance. Will the Government accept an RFI response that reflects the capabilities of our "Team"? This would apply to Items 1, 1.a., 1.b, and 2 Yes 5 Regarding the Rough Order of Magnitude requirements ("Rough Order of Magnitude that breaks out the estimated labor categories/rates and level of effort for the base and one option period."), we assume that the Government only wants labor pricing, or does the Government also seek ROM pricing for equipment and hardware--whether transition or new system? If the Government seeks equipment pricing as well, would the Government please provide a list of GFE to include existing access points, switches and firewalls? Yes, that is correct. Only a rough estimate of the labor categories/rates and level of effort is requested for planning purposes. 6 Given the quick turnaround for the RFI response, and the impact to creating labor pricing (and potentially equipment) pricing, would the Government please consider extending the due date by at least two days? The Government is not requesting full pricing. Only a rough estimate for planning purposes, however an extension until Wednesday, March 6, 2019 has been granted 7 Which company (ISP) currently provides internet service? SAVA 8 If a transition, who is the outgoing provider?   SAVA 9 Is the future bid open to the current provider, if this is a transition? If not, why? Yes, this is a re-compete solicitation due to the extent of work and that very little existing is able to be re-used. Set aside strategy has yet to be determined. 10 Regarding the Government's request for "information as to proposed team members, the percentage of work each is to perform"--does the Government seek information at the  contractor  level or  individual  level? If individual team members, does this include names or position titles? Please further clarify "information." What exactly does the Government seek that would be helpful?     At the contractor level. This is to determine if the effort may be considered for a set-aside acquisition.
