B.3 STATEMENT OF WORK CONTRACT TITLE BD FACSaria Fusion Service Plan BACKGROUND The BD FACSAria Fusion (656700-23) is an 11-color flow cytometer and cell sorter with 4 solid-state lasers in an enclosed system, that is further enclosed within a Class II Type A2 Biosafety Cabinet. This equipment is housed within our research program at the CMCVAMC and supports work by the existing and newly emerging laboratory-based and translational VA research, supported by BLR&D, CSR&D and RR&D (as well as NIH, DoD and others) with ongoing programs in immunity, inflammation, liver disease pathogenesis, cancer, viral diseases, neuropathology including traumatic brain injury, tissue regeneration, musculoskeletal health and joint diseases. It also provides an upgrade to our flow cytometer FACSCanto while enabling sorting of individual cells (e.g. cells of immune system, cancer, skin or any organs). The BD FACSAria Fusion was purchased during FY 2017 from Becton, Dickinson and Company, BD Bioscences on September 26, 2017 under contract #GS-07-F-195DA, order # VA244-17-F-6297. A 12-month warranty was included in the original purchase however, expired in December 2017. An extended service plan is needed for this high value equipment. SCOPE A service plan that will cover 4 years or a base year plus 3 option years will be needed for the BD FACSAria Fusion 4 laser system with a serial #R656700000011. The service plan would cover the FACSAria Fusion Cytometer with 4 lasers and one computer workstation for labor, travel expenses and parts. The service would include the following: Two preventive maintenance inspections per 12-month period to include 2 PM kits. Software revisions during the period of agreement. Unlimited service visits and telephone support. Guaranteed response for emergency on-site service WORK TASKS AND DELIVERABLEs Service is to be provided at the Corporal Michael J. Crescenz VA Medical Center, Research Service, building 21, Philadelphia, PA.
