- Notice of intent to use a brand name product. The Naval Facilities Engineering Command, Pacific (NAVFAC Pacific) is performing a market survey to determine if other potential sources of supply can provide fire department access box that have equal performance and listing/approval requirements as the Knox-Box 3200 series fire department access box manufactured by Knox Company. FY19 Military Construction Project P-295, Ordnance Operations, Andersen Air Force Base, Guam, requires two (2) fire department access boxed with the following characteristics: 1. The fire department access box shall be able to store building access keys, electronic access cards, and other small items necessary for emergency building access by the Fire Department. 2. The fire department access box shall be of high security, heavy duty, attack resistant, and corrosion resistant to protect contents. Box housing shall be constructed of ¼ inch plate steel and the door shall be constructed of ½ inch thick steel. The box door shall have a weather resistant door gasket to protect contents from moisture. The box shall be suitable for secured, recessed mounting in masonry construction. The box shall be UL listed as an anti-theft device. 3. Fire department access box shall incorporate double acting rotating tumblers and hardened steel pins accessed by a biased cut key. Lock shall be provided with a 1/8 -inch-thick stainless steel dust cover with tamper seal mounting capability to protect the lock. Lock shall be UL listed. 4. The fire department access box shall be keyed to accept the existing base fire department master Knox-Box key. This notification is for market research purposes only to identify if other potential sources of supply can meet the requirements of the Government. This is not a request for proposals, quotes or an invitation for bid. The intent of this notice is to identify other potential sources for this product. To be considered, please submit detailed technical data in order for the Government to conduct a comprehensive evaluation of your product to ensure compatibility with the existing system. In accordance with FAR 15.201(e), a response to this notice is not an offer and cannot be accepted by the Government to form a binding contract. The responder is solely responsible for the information it submits and any associated costs. The Government reserves the right to disregard any submittal that is incomplete or that is vague.
