Description
36C25618Q0549 Page 2 of 2 Commercial High-Speed Internet Access Services Questions and Answers #1 The Michael E. DeBakey Veteran Affairs Medical Center (MEDVAMC) Network Contracting Office (NCO) two (2) received questions in response to Request for Information (RFI) 36C25619Q0476 in support of the Central Arkansas Veterans Healthcare System (CAVHS). Please see below detailed Vendor questions and NCO 16 s respective answers accordingly. Question #1: Please clarify what is required in order to Provide a fiber path onto VA Fort Roots property, building 3 and John L. McClellan (JLM) hospital to include all cabling necessary. Answer #1: Fiber Path. Both campuses use underground utilities. The offeror will be responsible for any boring or trenching to provide fiber transport of the signal from the commercial node off Government Property to the demarcation point where the router will be set. This includes any permits or surveys required. Due to not knowing where the signal node would come from, it is impossible to provide possible paths on government property. Currently AT&T, Windstream, and Comcast have Fiber paths to, or very close to the demarcation locations. Leasing or buying fiber capacity from those commercial entities may be available, I do not know the state or condition of any commercial dark fiber. The offeror would need to solicit each about availability and condition. Question #2: Is this a solicitation for Internet Service Providers (ISP) or for internal network connecting to separate ISP for guest use or both? Answer #2: This solicitation is for a Service Provider to provide the required speed/bandwidth connection for 1Gig EDI /29 connections. This includes the /29block IP addresses on the World Wide Web. *** NOTICE OF EXTENSION OF RFI RESPONSE DUE DATE The RFI response due date is hereby Amended as follows: 1. As reads 11:00am (CST), Wednesday, March 13, 2019 2. To read 11:00am (CST), Friday, March 15, 2019 NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (08-MAR-2019); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
