- Seismological products - Seismic Digitizers and Sensors The U.S. Geological Survey (USGS) is conducting market research to determine the availability of qualified businesses capable of providing seismological products as described in the Technical Specifications. This sources sought announcement is not a request for quote or proposal and the Government is not committed to award of a purchase order or contract pursuant to this announcement. The information resulting from this market research is simply for planning purposes to assist the Government in determining its acquisition strategy. The Government will not pay for any costs incurred in the preparation of information for responding to this notice. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code “ 334519 Other Measuring and Controlling Device Manufacturing and associated size standard 500 employees apply to this announcement. All responsible sources may submit a brochure and technical specifications detailing the ability of their product to meet the salient characteristics included with this announcement. Responses to this announcement shall only be accepted through electronic mail addressed to Cheryl Ciccarelli cciccarelli@usgs.gov and must be uploaded and received in their entirety no later than March 20, 2019 at 12:00 noon PT. Responses submitted by hardcopy or the FedConnect web portal or the FedConnect Message Center shall not be accepted or considered. Technical Specifications Seismic Digitizer: Produce 24-bit digitized data on 6 channels Capable of recording multiple Sample rates up to 5000 Samples per Second Capable of simultaneously recording media and transmitting data in real time via digital radio, cell modem, and VSAT Media card support up to 64 GB Onboard data storage Must have data backfill onboard capability 9-36-volt power input Power consumption of< 1.5 Watts while digitizing three channels of data, using GPS for timing, and transmitting data Must allow for data acquisition via seedlink Must be a web browser based configuration Must have wireless on site configuration Must use an NTP server Must have variable gain sensors. Capable of operating in extreme environments typically encountered on volcanoes (temperatures from -20oC to 40oC; water-tight enclosure with robust connectors). Seismic Sensor Technical Specifications Must be lightweight, compact and able to be directly buried Must be low power consumption not exceed 120mW Must be a 3 channel 120 seconds sensor Must be capable of digital leveling through a standard computer software GUI application. Capable of operating in extreme environments typically encountered on volcanoes (temperatures Must be sealed in order to resist corrosive gases and water. Must fit in a 4" borehole Centaur from -20oC to 40oC; water-tight enclosure with robust connectors).
