Description
Brand Name or Equal Worksheet ( Salient Characteristics ) Brand Name Item: Carendo Ergonomic Hygiene Chair Essential/significant physical, functional, or performance characteristics. Compatibility VAPAHCS is standardizing.. (Do we use the product before? Provide more information) The CLC Veteran population rely heavily on shower chairs for their daily Activities of Daily Living and quality of life and due to challenging medical conditions including: spinal cord injuries, spasms, contractures, and other neurologic conditions they require specialized interventions for safe and comfortable positioning needs. The VAPAHCS CLCs have used the Carendo for over 12 years and although other non-powered chairs with plastic PVC piping and/or non- tilt/recline and non-elevating foot rests have been suitable for a small number of ambulatory residents; they are not effective or safe for most of the CLC patient/resident population. The CLC requires powered shower chairs that tilt and recline at an angle that prevents sliding and allows for bathing of physically dependent CLC Residents and because of the tilt recline feature the CLC has not had any incidents with sliding/falling out of the chairs. The Carendo shower chair has given us many years of dependable and safe service and the Residents and Staff feel comfortable using it. The Carendo chairs also maneuver easily in our small shower rooms and bathrooms and are height adjustable for staff ergonomics. Per Product Features & Benefits- The care raiser function is unique, as it lifts the lower part of the resident's/patient's body, enabling easy and discreet access for sensitive hygiene tasks A handset gives the caregiver complete control over the battery-powered functions: raising, lowering, reclining and the care raiser The high backrest and sturdy armrests provide optimum resident/patient support and security The reclined position gives full access for the caregiver to most parts of the body and is very comfortable for the resident/patient. Dimensions Product Information Lifting capacity 300 lbs (136 kg) Weight 141 lbs (64 kg) Max total weight (lift + resident) 400 lbs (200 kg) Chassis, max width 24 3/8 (620 mm) Chassis, width between legs 20 1/2 (520 mm) Chassis, height (clearance under chairs or beds) 7 (180 mm) Clearance under chassis 1 5/8 (40 mm) Chassis, max length (incl. brakes) 36 1/2 (925 mm) Chassis, projection 4 (100 mm) Turning area 45 1/4 (1150 mm) Lifting stroke range (seat) 21 5/8 (550 mm) Supply voltage 24 V DC Max power 150 VA Battery NiMH; ARJO NEA 0100 Color blue/gray Seat height (lowest/highest position) 18 1/2 | 37 1/2 (470 | 950 mm) Min. height/length (upright position) 48 3/8 | 35 (1230 | 890 mm) Width 25 5/8 (650 mm) Max length (reclined position) 59 7/8 (1520 mm) Weight-: 141lbs. Industry Standard other shower chair options are for patients with more independence for positioning Plastic PVC pipes- non-sturdy, unsafe and unsuitable for CLC Veteran population Non-powered- non-ergonomic increase staff and Veteran injuries Lower weight limits do not meet VA CLC population Purpose The Carendo shower chair is the best option for these CLC residents otherwise they are limited to bed/sponge baths and using bedpans rather than traditional showering and toileting. Based on comparison review of other shower chair products the Arjo Carendo chair would reduce the risk of injury, since no turning or physical lifting is required to access posterior/back of resident s body and no bending to bathe lower extremities; therefore, less risk for lifting and pulling related injuries. Applicable model/make/catalog number Carendo Ergonomic Hygiene Chair- With Unique Care Raiser- includes accessories back cushion, bedpan, holder and bedpan #BIB200301KT *(see brochure or price quote for additional info) 3) Manufacturer name ArjoHuntleigh www.arjohuntleigh.com/us NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (15-MAR-2019); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
