- This is not a solicitation announcement. This is as sources sought synopsis only for a laser cell analyzer. The purpose of this synopsis is to gain knowledge of potential qualified sources and their size classification (hubzone, 8(a), small business, small disadvantage business, Veteran owned small business (VOSB), Service disabled Veteran owned small business (SDVOSB), or large business) relative to NAICS 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing _ with a size standard of 1,000 employees. Note that if VA s pending market research establishes that two or more VOSB or SDVOSB, who are certified and verified in VA s Vendor Information Pages (VIP) site https://www.vip.vetbiz.va.gov/ can perform the service, VA will set aside the underlying solicitation per 38 U.S.C. §8127. Responses to this synopsis shall be used by the Government to make appropriate acquisition decisions. After review of the responses to this source sought synopsis, a solicitation announcement may be published on FBO and/or GSA eBuy. Responses to this source sought synopsis are not considered adequate responses to the solicitation announcement. All interested offerors must respond to the solicitation announcement in addition to responding to this source sought announcement. General Requirements: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Network 7 Contracting Office. Product Information: BD FACSymphony A5 or equal. Salient Characteristics Listed below: BD FACSymphony Salient Characteristics : Capability of up to 10 lasers, 50 parameters with 48 colors. State of the art fiber optics to carry the light/fluorescent signal from the flow cell to the PMTs. Decagon optical arrangement. Air-cooled lasers. Fixed alignment optics in conjunction with solid state lasers ranging in power from 60mW to 1000mW. Easily replaceable optical filters and mirrors for experimental flexibility. No special room requirements (no special electrical requirements, no special plumbing requirements, and no special air requirements). Sensitivity of <30 MESF-PE and <80 MESF-FITC. Perform and provides real-time statistics via the DIVA software. Cytometer Setup and Tracking software (CS&T software) for standardizing and maintaining quality control on the instrument, allowing for total automation of the QC of numerous parameters and alerting the user if a parameter does not meet specification, while tracks the QC parameters over time. Capable of analyzing at least 30 logical gates. State of the art low noise digital acquisition electronics with acquisition speeds of 40000 events per second. Capability to sample from 96 well microtiter plates with the High Throughput Sampler (HTS). The HTS can run a 96 well plate in the high throughput mode is less than 15 minutes. Proven user base with service support guaranteed within 48 hours. Can add a Forward Scatter PMT for detection limits of 0.2 microns. Software capability of Laser Control Software which allows the user to adjust laser power up or down on an as needed basis.
