- Description
- The Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) located at Edwards Air Force Base, CA (EAFB) requires program support for JANNAF Inter-agency Propulsion Committee whose purpose is to promote and facilitate the exchange of technical and programmatic information among Military Departments, Defense Agencies, NASA, U.S. industry and academia. The access to information provided by JANNAF is used to coordinate and prevent unnecessary duplication of basic and applied research; as well as the development of components prototypes and systems in the areas of missile, gun, and space propulsion/energetics. The materials provided for research by JANNAF are used to accomplish problem solving, collaboration, and support to strengthen the domestic propulsion industrial base. Information provided by JANNAF includes data summaries, standardized testing and reporting procedures, safety instruction, and program summaries; scientific and technical information. JANNAF host/supports multiple meetings throughout the year these meetings include various committees and sub-committees such as Technical Executive Committee, Programmatic and Industrial Base Executive Committee, in addition to technical interchange meetings, workshops, and expert panels required to support the propulsion community. Additional functions provided to the community by JANNAF program are to provide journals, newsletters and a website to communicate recent developments; technical reports, assessment inquiries, studies, and investigations; and provide management of classified documents located both in digital and physical form. The storage, retrieval, and management of all information must be in compliance with the Arms Export Control Act of 1976 and the Export Administration Act of 1979, which generates the necessity of secure storage facilities and methods as well as a need for a higher level of clearances for employees who handle and manage the storage of both physical and digital information.
