Description
NAVSUP Fleet Logistics Center Norfolk, Philadelphia Office intends to acquire two Astronomical Consultants and Equipment, Inc. (ACE) dome controllers to be installed at Deep Space Test Bed (DSTB) and Double Star observing facility. Dome controllers are part of the robotic telescope system that operates the opening and closing of the dome ™s shutters. ACE ™s SmartDome has real-time feedback of the status of the shutter door (opened, closed, ajar or moving) and the position of the dome. It is ideally suited to robotic completely un-manned observatories and features automated shutdown in the event of loss of communications with the telescope controller or in the event of a signal from an external environmental sensor. Domes protect the telescope ™s optical, IR detector ™s, and automation control equipment from weather conditions and emergency situations. The delivery can be no later than 90 days of contract award. The proposed procurement is being processed as a sole source requirement. The NAICS code for this acquisition is 333314 with a size standard of 500 employees.
