Description
LINBIT MAINT, SUPPORT AND BUILD OF CLUST This is a notice of intent to award a sole source purchase order to Linbit USA, LLC for service and maintenance of a custom shared storage solution. The award will be for a base plus two option years. LINBIT is the lead developer and package maintainer for the existing Linux shared storage solution. Many other companies can support Linux but LINBIT is the only one that can support the proprietary versions of the heartbeat and lock manager technologies used in the Government's existing cluster: Corosync and Pacemaker binaries. LINBIT has years of experience with these shared storage technologies and creates and maintains the packages for the solution and the surrounding technologies. LINBIT is unique because they specialize in this type of cluster. They are the source of the cluster binaries. They release security patches and functionality before it rolls down to the open-source community. LINBIT creates the licensed Pacemaker software packages that are required for this project as well as offers ongoing expertise and support. LINBIT will provide the proprietary and certified and licensed Pacemaker packages. They are the lead source of Pacemaker consulting; the software to be used in this shared storage solution. There are no other resellers of Pacemaker because LINBIT holds the rights. Other interested concerns having the ability to meet the USGS requirement may submit a proposal to the Contracting Officer no later than 28 Mar 2019 at 1200 PDT. As required by FAR 5.102(c) (1) the RFQ 140G0319Q0074 will be made available upon request. Contact the Contracting Officer atjriccomini@usgs.gov for a copy of the RFQ. All submissions will be considered by the agency and evaluated to determine if competitive opportunities exist. Estimated period of performance to start 1 Apr 2019.. For further information, please contact the Contracting Specialist at (916) 278-9347 or jriccomini@usgs.gov. NAICS: 541512, Computer System Design. $27.5 M.
