Description
In accordance with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS) Policy section 3.2.2.4, the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis for the FAA's decision to extend the current contract (DTFAWA-12-D-00018) with Lexmark International Inc. of Lexington, KY, through single source procedures. This extension and associated contract ceiling increase will allow for the continued purchase of printers, multi-function devices (MFD), and related support services for a period of twelve (12) months along with two additional six (6) month option periods. The purpose of this extension is to allow for sufficient time for the FAA to complete additional market research and a competition for a new contract for this requirement. The FAA is currently in the pre-solicitation planning stages for this new follow-on procurement and plans on issuing a new market survey announcement in or around August 2019. This extension is also intended to allow the FAA sufficient time to position itself to replace print assets when they are further along in their lifecycle. This will allow for a refresh of print assets at a more appropriate and advantageous time for a follow-on contract. Lexmark is the current provider under contract DTFAWA-12-D-00018. This contract is an Indefinite Delivery Indefinite Quantity (IDIQ) contract under the Strategic Acquisition of Various Equipment and Supplies (SAVES) Program. This contract provides simplified purchasing of printing equipment for the FAA ™s CONUS and OCONUS locations. This is a single source requirement to Lexmark as they are the only current provider of the above products under the FAA mandatory source SAVES contract. Accordingly, a competitive solicitation is not available for this immediate requirement. The FAA is not seeking or accepting unsolicited proposals. The FAA is not liable for any costs associated with the preparing of a response to this announcement. If you're viewing this announcement from a source other than Federal Aviation Administration Contract Opportunities (FAACO), visit https://faaco.faa.gov/index.cfm/announcement/view/32904 to view the original announcement.
