IAW FAR 15.201(f) [g]eneral information about agency mission needs and future requirements may be disclosed at any time. After the release of a solicitation, the contracting officer must be the focal point of any exchange with potential offerors. This notice is issued solely for the information and planning purposes and does not constitute a solicitation. DATE TO BE DETERMINED: The OI&T Electronic Health Records Modernization (EHRM) Business Engagement will be scheduled soon. Attendees will meet face-to-face with procurement decision makers at the Business Engagement Center (BEC) located at 801 I Street NW, Washington DC 20001. Registration will open soon and capacity will be limited. You must register and build your schedule to participate. If you have more than one person attending from your company, each person must register and build a schedule. 4. BACKGROUND: The Planner of this requirement is the Office of Information & Technology (OI&T). The Organizer of this notice is the Office of Small and Disadvantaged Business Utilization (OSDBU). The OI&T seeks to engage in early exchanges of information with industry. This event will provide information about the activities the Office of Electronic Health Record Modernization (OEHRM) is pursuing. The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) established OEHRM to manage the transition to the earlier mentioned system and the health information technology (IT) tools dependent upon it. VA was the pioneer of the Electronic Health Record (EHR) with the development of Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA), VA s legacy system. However, after almost 40 years of use, VistA lacks the interoperability necessary to better serve our Veterans and is costly to maintain. The VA is adopting the same EHR system as the Department of Defense (DoD). This is a Veteran-centric approach that supports service members transitioning from military service, and will drive better clinical outcomes by giving health care providers a full picture of patient medical history, and enhance collaboration with community care partners. The feedback gathered at this event will be used by the members of an Integrated Project Team (IPT) as stated at FAR 15.201(e), to derive price, delivery, and other market information; to include capabilities for planning purposes. 5.
