Description
The Government intends to conduct a sole source procurement for the accomplishment of an unplanned availability for USS CHARLESTON (LCS-18). The place of performance for this requirement is Seattle, Washington. Work is projected to start approximately July 1, 2019 with an expected duration through December 31, 2019. These requirements will be procured as a delivery order under the Basic Ordering Agreement (BOA) N00024-15-G-2304 issued to Austal USA, LLC, 100 Addsco Drive, Mobile, AL 36602. This work will commence upon award of delivery order. Consequently, only Austal USA, LLC, the shipbuilding yard for LCS 18 has the adequate and unique knowledge of the ship's delivered configuartion, including deferred work and incomplete change, to completey perform the effort. As described in Class Justification and Approval (CJ&A) 21.348, the Government intends to solicit and negotiate the proposed action with only one source under the authority of 120 U.S.C. 2304(c)(3) AND far 6.302.1 - only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirments. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals; rather for informational purposes only; however, all responsible sources which submit a capability statement, proposal or quotation within thirty days after publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Agency. A determination by the Government to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
