Description
Background The Forensic Chemistry Center (FCC) in The Office of Regulatory Affairs/Office of Regulatory Science/Medical Products, Tobacco and Specialty Labs (ORA/ORS/OMPTSLO) requires the purchase of one (1) High Performance Ion Mobility Spectrometer system (HPIMS) Add-on for a Thermo MS in support of FDA's proposed increased package inspections for opioid products and drugs at International Mail Facilities (IMFs) and Express Courier Hubs (ECHs). FCC provides laboratory-based confirmatory analysis of bulk APIs and solid dosage forms. The ion mobility spectrometer equipped with an electrospray ionization probe and a thermal desorber ionization module requested can be directly interfaced with our existing Thermo Scientific atmospheric pressure ionization mass spectrometry platforms without any modifications to the mass spectrometry units. This accessory will provide an orthogonal means of identification (drift time) to the mass spectral data. This will aid in rapidly identifying APIs including opioids in samples. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (05-APR-2019); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE. PLEASE CONTACT 877-472-3779 or fbo.support@gsa.gov REGARDING THIS ISSUE.
