Description

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention intends to award a sole source firm fixed price purchase order to Evidence Partners Inc. The Division of Diabetes Translation's (DDT) Translation Health Education and Evaluation Branch (THEEB) is committed to reducing the preventable burden of diabetes through public health leadership, partnership, research, programs, and policies to translate science into practice. THEEB uses state-of-the-science literature and systematic review methods to compile and synthesize all available scientific evidence on a wide-range of population based interventions for promoting type 2 diabetes prevention and supporting diabetes self-management. Collectively, these efforts ensure that policy, practice, and research direction and funding decisions are informed by the highest quality evidence and in the least amount of time. Unlike other products/services, DistillerSR has good online technical support available during business hours every day. This will be invaluable to us as we try to get our multiple reviews done to meet the implementation timeline for the CDC Strategic Plan for Dr. Redfield and other stakeholders. DistillerSR can process its database 10-100 times faster than other software in the market due to some fundamental architectural changes; supports repeating forms, multiple forms per level, and multiple attachments per article; has more in-depth kappa report as well as user metrics, statistical and user workload reports; faster form editor allowing much easier construction and editing of abstraction forms; review compatibility allowing multiple people to work on the same citation unlike other software in the field; allows for reference partitioning for easier division of duties among reviewers, unlike other software in the field; allows for easier export to other software such as MS Excel; and has more granular permissions permitting more detailed management of database access.
