- This is a Pre-Solicitation Notice only. Request For Proposal will be available as an attachment (Solicitation) on or about 24 April 2019. Search FedBizOpps for solicitation SPRWA1-19-R-0042 on or about 24 April 2019 to view Request for Proposal. Requirement is for 20mm GAU-4 Machine Gun UnLoad Drive Assembly NSN 1005-00-188-6969, part number 176F727 used on F-15 Model C/D/E. The UnLoad Drive is a sub-assembly of the Gun Accessory Feed and Storage System which stores and transfers 20mm ammunition to the gun and returns spent cases and unfired rounds to storage. A five year Firm Fixed Price contract is anticipated with a one year basic requirement of approximately 15 units to include 2 ea First Articles followed by four one year ordering periods each covering a range of 1 to 20 units. The Technical Data Package for PN 176F727 is the property of the US Government. TDP will be available on FedBizOpps at time of RFP posting. The 20mm Unload-Drive Assembly is suitable for competitive acquisition but requires engineering source approval by the design control activity (AFLCMC/EBWEW) in order to maintain the quality of the part. Award of contract is limited to Sources that have received pre-qualification source approval. Current approved sources are General Dynamics-OTS (CAGE 05606) and Thomas Instrument Inc. (CAGE 5H860). Any alternate source must qualify in accordance with the design control activity's procedures (AFMCI-23-113 (Pre-Qualification of New or Additional Parts Sources)), as approved by the cognizant government engineering activity (AFLCMC/EBWEW). Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals to points of contact listed in notice. Conditions for Waiver to First Article Approval: -Offerors who have previously furnished production quantities of the same of similar article to the prime contractor for delivery to the USAF. -Offerors currently in production of the same or similar article for a USAF contract and who have received First Article approval under the existing contract. -Offerors who have previously furnished production quantities of the same or similar articles to the USAF provided articles thus furnished have exhibited satisfactory performance in service in the opinion of the USAF. -Provided not more than 36 months have lapsed since completion of the contract.
