Description
The U.S. Geological Southeast Ecological Science Center has a requirement for the removal and replacement of two roofs located in Gainesville, Florida. The work must be completed within 120 days (note this is changed from the synopsis which originally stated 180 days) of the date the contractor receives the notice to proceed. A partial description of the requirement is as follows: Roof one is located on the first story portion of the Main Research Building and was constructed in the early 1980s. It is approximately 11,400 square feet. The building was constructed using CMU block and the roof has a structural decking as a base. A 2" polyurethane foam layer applied over it in 2009. and a structural concrete decking base. Roof two is a low-slope roof located on the Smith Annex building and was also constructed in the early 1980s. It is approximately 3428 square feet. The building is constructed of CMU block and has standard roof sheathing as the roof base. Roof 2 also has a roof shingle mansard to be replaced with a snap-lock standing seam meatal roof to match the main building. There are no option periods. Request for Proposal (RFP) 140G0119R0001 will be issued on or about 03/14/2019 with written proposals due on or about 04/17/2019. The magnitude of construction is between $250,000 and $500,000. All vendors submitting proposals will be required to provide a bid guarantee. The awardee will be required to provide performance and payment bonds. A site visit will be held, the information for which can be found in Section L of the RFP. CONTRACTORS ARE STRONGLY ENCOURAGED TO ATTEND THE SITE VISIT. The estimated magnitude of construction is between $250,000 and $500,000. The NAICS code is 238160. The size standard is $15.00 million. This acquisition will be a total small business set-aside pursuant to FAR Part 19. The anticipated award date of the contract is February 28, 2019. A vendor must be registered at http://www.sam.gov to be awarded the contract. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency.
