Description
The U. S. Geological Survey (USGS) Woods Hole Coastal & Marine intends to award a competitive purchase order in accordance with FAR Subpart 13.5 Simplified Procedures for Certain Commercial Items for a Fully Found Vessel, operating personnel, facilities, fuel, oil, food and support equipment as specified, to conduct a geophysical survey. This survey will provide a regional framework of the surficial geology and shallow sub-bottom stratigraphy in the inner continental shelf and near shore area off the coast of Massachusetts, in Cape Cod Bay, (within the red encircled area on chart attached below). The objective of this survey is to produce interpretive maps of the sea floor geology with applications to coastal erosion, sand resource, and marine habitat studies. Work will be conducted in waters as shallow as 5 meters. The planned survey will require one cruise of 30-32 days comprised of two legs, point of origin for this operation being Woods Hole, MA. The accepted vessel shall be available for equipment loading and securing in Woods Hole MA on 29 July 2019. Upon vessel being ready for sea the vessel shall transit to Cape Cod Bay on or before 31 July 2019.The period of performance of 07/29/2019 to 08/31/2019. There are no option periods. All responsible sources may submit a bid, proposal, or quotation no later than 05/09/2019. A firm-fixed price award will be made on or about 05/20/2019. The proposed contract action is for services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate under the authority of FAR 13.500(a). The NAICS code is 483114.
