- INTRODUCTION: The Department of Veterans Affairs (VA), Program Contracting Activity Central (PCAC) anticipates soliciting proposals and subsequently awarding a single, Firm-Fixed-Price contract using DESIGN-BUILD selection procedures for a Renovate Pharmacy project for USP at Fort Meade and Hot Springs VA Medical Center (VAMC). PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The project will include the design and renovation construction of two pharmacy areas used for drug distribution and storage at the Fort Meade and Hot Springs locations. These upgrades are implemented to maintain USP 800 compliance. Areas of work include, but are not limited to the following location(s): storage areas, ante-room, compounding (buffer) rooms, and other associated existing pharmacy space. Upgrades include, but are not limited to the following items: heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems and controls, low voltage systems, plumbing, fire protection, architectural, and electrical systems. ADMINISTRATIVE: The solicitation will be issued as a Request For Proposal (RFP) conducted in accordance with FAR Parts 15, 19, and 36 and will be evaluated in accordance with the procedures listed in the solicitation. The solicitation will be advertised as a total Service-Disabled Veteran-Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) Set-Aside. Proposals received from other than SDVOSB concerns will not be considered. The applicable NAICS code is 236220 with a size standard of $36.5 Million. The solicitation will be issued on or about January 11, 2019. The period of performance is approximately 450 calendar days from the issuance of the Notice to Proceed. The Magnitude of Construction is expected to be between $2,000,000 and $5,000,000.
