Description

The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price delivery order on contract N00019-17-G-0013 to BAE Systems Information and Electronic Systems Integration of Greenlawn, New York (BAE) for the investigation and analysis of Trouble Reports (TR)s and changes to address current Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) standards, Cybersecurity improvements, and to identify options for obsolescence mitigation. These investigation efforts will identify potential implementation changes and issues and will help to determine the estimated cost, complexity and risk of implementing these changes for the AN/APX-123/123A IFF equipment. The results of this investigation and analysis could be implemented via one or more future Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) that would enable the AN/APX-123/123A to become compliant with the latest Air Traffic Control Radar Beacon System (ATCRBS) Identification Friend or Foe (IFF) Mark XIIA and Mark XIIB System (AIMS) specifications and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Radio Technical Commission for Aeronautics (RTCA) Mode S and Automatic Dependent Surveillance - Broadcast (ADS-B) Out standards, and to ensure continued supportability, interoperability and increased capability for the AN/APX-123/123A equipment.
