Description
The purpose of this amendment is to provide questions asked during the solicitation phase, and the Government s response. Question: In the solicitation it says unlimited patient users and staff users members per location. Do you have a rough estimate of users per location? Government s Response: The number of users will vary greatly per location. For example, in Martinsburg, about 50 staff members are using the current service (only in the Operating room department and GI endoscopy suite). The number does not include the addition of additional departments within the facility that will be using this service. Question: What is the period of performance start date? Government s Response: The period of performance will begin as soon as the contract is awarded. Should any additional time be required by the vendor before performance can begin, please specify the lead time required in the quote. Question: While the contract is for unlimited SMS messages, what is the anticipated usage of this system in terms of messages sent and received? Government s Response: The text messages usage will vary greatly due to the size of the facility. Question: The PoP is listed as 12 months but does not give any indication as to the agency s plans afterwards. Will there likely be a follow-on opportunity in 12 months? If so, will it be an entirely new bid or would the agency pursue an extension? Government s Response: This is a pilot program for VISN 5, and as such this project is to determine the suitability of a larger follow-on project. Options are not included in this contract, and any follow-on opportunity will be accomplished through a new project/solicitation. NOTE: THIS NOTICE WAS NOT POSTED TO FEDBIZOPPS ON THE DATE INDICATED IN THE NOTICE ITSELF (18-APR-2019); HOWEVER, IT DID APPEAR IN THE FEDBIZOPPS FTP FEED ON THIS DATE.
