Description

On 8 April 2019, the Department of the Navy Naval Sea Systems Command held an Industry Day to publicize and gain insight from private industry on U.S. Navy's requirements for the Shipyard Infrastructure Optimization Plan (SIOP). The overall intent of the Industry day was to share the Government's understanding of its requirement and invite industry to ask questions and offer specific recommendations to help further define the Government's requirements. The Government considered the event a complete success as maximum industry participation was achieved. During execution of the Industry Day, the Government provided a presentation for the intent of conveying the Government's SIOP requirements. This presentation also provided information on efforts which had taken place or are currently underway. A copy of the Government's presentation is included as an attachment to this notice. Additionally, Industry participants asked numerous questions during the Government's presentation, and all Industry participants were offered the ability to ask questions of the Government in one-on-one sessions following the Government's presentation. Numerous Industry participants requested one-on-one sessions. The Government will be making all the questions and answers publically available in a follow-up to this notice once the transcribing of all information is completed. Lastly, the Government intends to issue a follow-up Request for Information (RFI) on this effort.
