- Description
- Project # 541-18-101: Upgrade Fire Alarm System. This is a multi-phased project at the VA Wade Park Medical Center located in Cleveland, OH. This multi-phased project that will upgrade the existing fire alarm system at the facility. Upon project completion, the VA will have addressed all deficiencies with the current fire alarm system. The upgraded system is designed to meet all NFPA codes and current guidelines. Phase 1: The contractor will install the new campus fiber loop and all of the new head end units. During this phase, all of the new head end equipment will be fully tested and ready for use prior to proceeding to phase two. Phase 2: The contractor will trace out conduits and wiring of the existing field devices, i.e. strobe, horn/strobes, pull stations, smoke detectors, etc. and rewiring them as necessary so that they are reporting back to the head end unit contained within the appropriate smoke compartment/zone. This rewiring effort corrects that type of issue so that only the code required areas will be initiated.
