Sources Sought Nutrition Management Software 36C25919Q0297 Department of Veterans Affairs This Request for Information, Sources Sought Notice is issued for information and planning purposes only. This is not a solicitation or a request for proposal and shall not be construed as an obligation or commitment by the Government. An award will not be made on any offers submitted in response to this notice, and it shall not be implied the Government is committed to providing any solicitation or award following this notice. The Government will not pay for any information received in response to this request, nor will the Government compensate a respondent for any costs incurred in developing information provided. Responses shall be submitted to kurt.tanny@va.gov by 4:00pm EST on Friday, May 3rd, 2019. This notice is intended strictly for market research. The purpose of this Sources Sought Notice is to determine interest and capability of potential sources of supply. Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office 19 (NCO 19) is seeking responses to this request for information from interested, capable firms that can meet the requirements set forth; Summary: George E. Wahlen, (Salt Lake City) Department of Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) Nutrition and Food Services (NFS) requires a computer-based food management program to modernize patient food service systems. The need is for an off-the-shelf food management system which is continuously maintained and updated as needed to support current healthcare food service practices. Requirements the system include but are not limited to; Software and hardware must be compatible with Veterans Health Information Systems and Technology Architecture (VistA) Admission, discharge, transfer, and diet order information needs to be able to transfer, in real-time, from VISTA to the new system. Have a unidirectional interface enabling secure transfer of information from VISTA to the new system without the risk of overwriting data, security breaches or data corruption in the VISTA system. Integrate the Pyxis MedStation system with Pyxis Connect. Bedside selection of meal choices, interfacing with the Get Well Network. Bedside hostess selection of meals, using a tablet, for Veterans who are unable to use the Get Well Network for meal selection. Allow for creation of patient specific meal patterns; produce on-demand menus and tray tickets; provide comprehensive nutrient analysis and calorie counts; manage food service recipes and menus; and automate HACCP compliance guidelines Perpetual inventory capability; tracking and history reports by day, week, month, year, vendor, storage location, or inventory group. Produce customizable reports with filter settings and report parameters that can be saved for future use. All reports will have the ability to be viewed on the screen, printed, or exported to a variety of other formats such as Excel, PDF, HTML and Graphic. Ability to block an allergen from being selected, even accidentally, when patients are making their menu selections, avoiding human error. Ability to link each recipe, as well as its respective ingredients, nutritional content and potential allergens and compare it to the nutritional assessment and diet order for each patient.
