Description
VORMON equipment (including options), software licenses, and warranties In accordance with Section 3.2.2.4 of the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Acquisition Management System (AMS), the purpose of this announcement is to inform industry of the basis for the FAA's decision to contract on a single source basis for the brand name products detailed in this announcement. The FAA intends to award a purchase order to Rohde & Schwarz for Very High Frequency Omni-directional Range (VOR) Minimum Operational Network (MON) brand name Rohde & Schwarz inspection equipment to be installed on the FAA owned aircraft. FAA Flight Program Operations Engineering Team previously purchased and is actively utilizing two (2) Rohde and Schwarz EVS300 VOR/ILS Signal Analyzers and one (1) EDS300 DME/TACAN Pulse Analyzers. These signal analyzers are used by engineering in a variety of scenarios to support both operations and maintenance. This proven system is the basis for the C90GTI VORMON system design. The FAA has invested significant capital to perform testing on the Rohde & Schwarz VORMON equipment during development of the ground reference station for signal strength calibration. Rohde & Schwarz is the original equipment manufacturer (OEM) of the required equipment and is the only manufacturer providing equipment software customization for flight inspection functions. Rhode & Schwarz has full knowledge of the equipment required along with proprietary data to the source codes, and the only source for critical specialty equipment options. This announcement is issued to advise interested parties of the FAA's intent to issue an award valued in excess of accordingly. All responses to this announcement must be sent $150,000. If your firm does not agree with this single source brand name determination, please provide evidence of your firm's capability and experience in providing the supplies and services outlined herein and the FAA will evaluate by e-mail to the Contract Specialist, LaMeisha Cheridor, no later than 8:00 A.M. (CST), April 29, 2019.
