- The U.S. Army Contracting Command - Aberdeen Proving Ground - Natick Contracting Division on behalf of the U.S. Army Combat Capabilities and Development Command (CCDC), Soldier Protection and Survivability Directorate (SPSD) intends to procure on a sole source basis under FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Agency Requirements, Pre-Inspection repairs, services, and maintenance of the JEM 2010 Electron Microscope System, to JEOL USA, Inc., 11 Dearborn Rd, Peabody, MA 01960. JEOL USA, Inc. is the only known source authorized to inspect, and repair the JEM-2010 (proprietary) and is the only source that can provide certified technicians with the expert knowledge and experience required to perform the required preventative maintenance and as needed repairs. A Firm Fixed Price Contract will be issued. This is not a request for quotes. No solicitation package is available. Any responses to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. The North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 811219.
