- THIS IS A SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE ONLY. This notice does NOT constitute a request for proposal, request for quote, or invitation for bid. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. Market Research is being conducted to Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB), Veteran Owned Small Business (VOSB), Small Business, Small Disadvantaged Business, 8(a), Woman Owned Small Business or HUBZone interests. The Hampton Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC) is trying to determine whether to set-aside an acquisition to provide Document Shredding Services at the Salem Veterans Affairs Medical Center (VAMC). The scope of the acquisition includes but is not limited to: Contractor shall furnish services, materials, and equipment required to pick-up, and dispose of sensitive data as outlined in VA Directive 6371, Destruction of Temporary Paper Records at the VA Medical Center, Salem, Virginia. The Contractor shall work with VA staff to properly manage the destruction of sensitive data to include paper documents, optical discs, magnetic tapes, and any other media that may contain information that is deemed sensitive by the Salem VA Medical Center. Contractor shall furnish services, equipment, and materials to properly handle, package, label, transport, and dispose of sensitive data generated at VAMC Salem. Sensitive data must be managed in a way that prevents release of patient information. All loads leaving the Salem VA Medical Center, and its Community Based Outpatient Clinics (CBOC's), MUST BE SECURED UNTIL THE FINAL DESTRUCTION OF THE MEDIA MEETS THE STANDARDS AS OUTLINED IN VA Directive 6371 or other applicable regulation. The Contractor shall be responsible for cleaning up messes during the pickup and destruction process. List scope bullet form is best. List any required certificates and location restraints. If your company is interested in performing these services, please notify our office of your intent. In response, please include the following: (a) a positive statement of your intent to submit a bid as a prime contractor (capability statement); (b) evidence of experience in work similar in type and scope to include contract numbers, project titles, dollar amounts, points of contact and telephone numbers. Responses to this notice should also identify whether or not the firm falls into any of the socioeconomic categories listed above. Your response is required by: 12 Noon 16 Jan 2019 All capable Service Disabled Veteran Small Businesses are encouraged to respond. The Government will not pay for any information solicited.
