Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, Sioux Falls VA Health Care System (SFVAHCS), is seeking potential sources to provide Hematology/Oncology Physician services onsite at the VA. Services consist of forty (40) hours per week from a physician that is board certified by the American Board of Internal Medicine (ABIM) in Hematology and Oncology. The contractor must be present at the VA facility and must be performing the required services from 8:00 am to 4:30 pm. Monday through Friday, for the period specified in the contract. Contractor s physician(s) (as appropriate and within scope of practice/privileging) shall be responsible for providing Hematology/Oncology care, including, but not limited to: Provide comprehensive care to include diagnosis, treatment and education of patients with Hematologic or Oncologic disease. Evaluate, triage, and prioritize consult requests to ensure timely care for patients suspected of having Hematology/Oncology needs.       Order and supervise the administration of chemotherapeutic agents. Participate in the multi-disciplinary tumor board. Perform bone marrow aspiration and biopsies. Perform goals of care conversations and collaborate with the Hospice and Palliative Care team to coordinate care and manage symptoms of patients with advanced disease. Perform administrative tasks as assigned, such as peer reviews, and Ongoing Professional Practice Evaluations (OPPE). Review approximately 10 charts every 6 months for Ongoing Professional Performance Evaluation and perform standard of care review for the peer review committee, as needed Provide clinical supervision and support to any Physician Assistants and/or Nurse Practitioners working in the Hematology/Oncology clinic. Attend staff meetings and serve on committees, teams, workgroups as requested The NAICS code for this requirement is 621111, Office of Physicians (except Mental Health Specialists) and Size Standard is $11.0 Million.
